Using TunnelBear is really easy. Just download and install it, sign up for an (free 500 MB a month) account, and choose the location of the content you want to access. Just select "US" or "UK" on the location switch and then turn the power switch to the "ON" position. It'll take a moment for TunnelBear to do its thing, but within a few seconds it'll make web sites think you're in the US when you're not.

TunnelBear is a user-friendly and secure VPN service that is now owned by a large, US-based cybersecurity company (McAfee). While TunnelBear does offer decent applications, performance was not not great when tested against other industry-leading VPNs (see results below).

3. Vigilant Vigilant may be considered to be more of a security feature. Whenever TunnelBear is connecting or reconnecting, when enabled this features assures no leak of data. You won’t be connected to the domain but will get a message that tunnelbear is connecting therefore you are insecure to surf the content. You can find this feature by going to the gear option and selecting settings. Under the generals tab, you will get to check mark(or not ) the vigilant feature.

I'm the Tunnelblick developer, so I'm pretty confident that the above is correct. But I have two caveats:
Ease of the VPN software: Their app is quite simple and straight-forward.
IKEv2 can be used natively on various devices (no app required) and runs with less CPU, but it is also not open source.

If you happen to run out of data Tunnelbear offers a free GB of data if you tweet at their official twitter account. You can do this each month to top off your free plan. The Tunnelbear desktop and browser apps allow you to easily choose a specific VPN location or let Tunnelbear choose one at random. Speed has been acceptable for general browsing and media streaming. Unfortunately Tunnelbear does not allow torrent traffic so if that is something you need you will have to look elsewhere.

Here was a nearby server I tested in Switzerland, which gave me a download speed of 54 Mbps.
